Metric definitions

What we measure

Every number in your report comes from a sample of the account's 20 most recent public videos, plus the profile's own current stats. Here's exactly what each one is and how it's calculated.

Followers

The account's current follower count, pulled directly from its public profile at the moment you run the check.

Avg Views

The average play count across the account's 20 most recent public videos. A single viral outlier in that window can pull the average up even if most videos perform modestly.

Videos

The total number of videos the account has ever posted, as reported by TikTok — not limited to the sample used for the other metrics.

Engagement Rate

Engagement Rate = (Average Likes + Average Comments) ÷ Followers × 100, calculated across the same 20-video sample as Avg Views. Shares and saves aren't included — TikTok's public data doesn't expose them here — so this number will usually read lower than an all-metrics engagement figure.

Avg Likes

The average like count across the same 20-video sample used for Avg Views, feeding directly into the Engagement Rate above.

Total Likes

The lifetime like total across every video the account has ever posted — not limited to the sample.

Top Videos

The videos with the most views inside the same 20-post sample, ranked highest to lowest. If the account has posted more than 20 videos, an older hit outside the sample won't appear here.

Posting Cadence

How many videos per week the account has been posting, plus the day of the week and time of day it posts most often — both derived from the timestamps of the same sampled videos.

Growth Recommendations

Suggestions generated by comparing this account's engagement rate, posting cadence, and like-to-view ratio against fixed thresholds. They're rule-based, not written by a person or an AI model, and not benchmarked against other accounts in the niche.

How to read your results

Knowing what a metric is only gets you halfway — here's what a high or low reading on each one actually implies, and what it's usually worth doing about it.

Engagement Rate

This is the headline number for a reason — it's the metric least distorted by account age or follower count alone. A rate that's climbing over repeated checks means your recent videos are landing better with the people who already follow you. A rate that's flat or falling while followers keep growing is a common pattern: you're adding passive followers faster than you're giving existing ones a reason to interact.

Avg Views vs. Followers

Compare these two directly. If Avg Views sits well below your follower count, TikTok's algorithm is showing your videos to a small slice of your own audience rather than pushing them wider — that's a distribution problem, not a content-quality one on its own. If Avg Views exceeds your follower count, your content is already reaching people who don't follow you yet, which is the sign an account is in active growth mode.

Posting Cadence

Both directions can hurt you. Posting fewer than a few times a week gives the algorithm little to work with and makes any single video's performance noisier. Posting far more than that can spread the same audience attention across too many videos, so no single one gets a strong enough initial push to take off. The recommendations below the report call out which side of that line an account sits on.

Top Videos

Look at the gap between your single best video and the rest of the sample, not just the best video's raw number. A huge gap — one clear outlier and everything else far behind — usually means you found a format that worked once by luck, not one you've figured out how to repeat yet. A smaller gap, where several videos cluster near the top, is the better signal: it suggests a repeatable format rather than a single lucky break.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter a public TikTok username

No login for you and no login for the account you're checking — just the @handle.

  2. 2

We read the profile’s public data

We pull the account's current profile stats and its 20 most recent public videos — the same information visible to anyone who opens that profile.

  3. 3

We calculate the metrics from that sample

Engagement rate, view/like/comment averages, posting cadence, and the growth recommendations are all computed from that data — nothing here is pulled from a private TikTok analytics source.

  4. 4

You get the full report immediately

Every metric renders on this page in seconds, with no email, signup, or partial results behind a paywall.

What this tool can and can't see

  • Public accounts only

Private accounts show nothing to a logged-out visitor, so this tool can’t analyze them either — it reads the same public data anyone would see.

  • A 20-video sample, not full history

Averages, engagement rate, top videos, and posting cadence are all computed from the account's 20 most recent videos. An account with a longer history has posts outside that window that don't factor into these numbers.

  • No shares, saves, or private analytics

Engagement rate here only counts likes and comments, because shares and saves aren't part of TikTok's public data. We also can't see anything from the account owner's private dashboard — traffic sources, audience demographics, watch time, or follower growth history.

  • Exact counts vs. derived numbers

Followers, video count, and like totals are exact figures as TikTok reports them. Engagement rate, posting cadence, and the growth recommendations are this tool’s own calculations from that data, not numbers TikTok publishes directly.
