- 1Engagement rate is below 1% — hook viewers in the first 2 seconds and add a clear CTA to boost interactions.
- 2TikTok rewards volume. Posting fewer than 3× per week significantly limits algorithmic reach — aim for daily or near-daily uploads.

Metric definitions
What we measure
Every number in your report comes from a sample of the account's 20 most recent public videos, plus the profile's own current stats. Here's exactly what each one is and how it's calculated.
Followers
The account's current follower count, pulled directly from its public profile at the moment you run the check.
Avg Views
The average play count across the account's 20 most recent public videos. A single viral outlier in that window can pull the average up even if most videos perform modestly.
Videos
The total number of videos the account has ever posted, as reported by TikTok — not limited to the sample used for the other metrics.
Engagement Rate
Engagement Rate = (Average Likes + Average Comments) ÷ Followers × 100, calculated across the same 20-video sample as Avg Views. Shares and saves aren't included — TikTok's public data doesn't expose them here — so this number will usually read lower than an all-metrics engagement figure.
Avg Likes
The average like count across the same 20-video sample used for Avg Views, feeding directly into the Engagement Rate above.
Total Likes
The lifetime like total across every video the account has ever posted — not limited to the sample.
Top Videos
The videos with the most views inside the same 20-post sample, ranked highest to lowest. If the account has posted more than 20 videos, an older hit outside the sample won't appear here.
Posting Cadence
How many videos per week the account has been posting, plus the day of the week and time of day it posts most often — both derived from the timestamps of the same sampled videos.
Growth Recommendations
Suggestions generated by comparing this account's engagement rate, posting cadence, and like-to-view ratio against fixed thresholds. They're rule-based, not written by a person or an AI model, and not benchmarked against other accounts in the niche.
How to read your results
Knowing what a metric is only gets you halfway — here's what a high or low reading on each one actually implies, and what it's usually worth doing about it.
Engagement Rate
This is the headline number for a reason — it's the metric least distorted by account age or follower count alone. A rate that's climbing over repeated checks means your recent videos are landing better with the people who already follow you. A rate that's flat or falling while followers keep growing is a common pattern: you're adding passive followers faster than you're giving existing ones a reason to interact.
Avg Views vs. Followers
Compare these two directly. If Avg Views sits well below your follower count, TikTok's algorithm is showing your videos to a small slice of your own audience rather than pushing them wider — that's a distribution problem, not a content-quality one on its own. If Avg Views exceeds your follower count, your content is already reaching people who don't follow you yet, which is the sign an account is in active growth mode.
Posting Cadence
Both directions can hurt you. Posting fewer than a few times a week gives the algorithm little to work with and makes any single video's performance noisier. Posting far more than that can spread the same audience attention across too many videos, so no single one gets a strong enough initial push to take off. The recommendations below the report call out which side of that line an account sits on.
Top Videos
Look at the gap between your single best video and the rest of the sample, not just the best video's raw number. A huge gap — one clear outlier and everything else far behind — usually means you found a format that worked once by luck, not one you've figured out how to repeat yet. A smaller gap, where several videos cluster near the top, is the better signal: it suggests a repeatable format rather than a single lucky break.

How it works
- 1
Enter a public TikTok username
No login for you and no login for the account you're checking — just the @handle.
- 2
We read the profile’s public data
We pull the account's current profile stats and its 20 most recent public videos — the same information visible to anyone who opens that profile.
- 3
We calculate the metrics from that sample
Engagement rate, view/like/comment averages, posting cadence, and the growth recommendations are all computed from that data — nothing here is pulled from a private TikTok analytics source.
- 4
You get the full report immediately
Every metric renders on this page in seconds, with no email, signup, or partial results behind a paywall.
What this tool can and can't see
Public accounts only
Private accounts show nothing to a logged-out visitor, so this tool can’t analyze them either — it reads the same public data anyone would see.
A 20-video sample, not full history
Averages, engagement rate, top videos, and posting cadence are all computed from the account's 20 most recent videos. An account with a longer history has posts outside that window that don't factor into these numbers.
No shares, saves, or private analytics
Engagement rate here only counts likes and comments, because shares and saves aren't part of TikTok's public data. We also can't see anything from the account owner's private dashboard — traffic sources, audience demographics, watch time, or follower growth history.
Exact counts vs. derived numbers
Followers, video count, and like totals are exact figures as TikTok reports them. Engagement rate, posting cadence, and the growth recommendations are this tool’s own calculations from that data, not numbers TikTok publishes directly.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Also written as a TikTok profile analyser — same tool, both spellings show up in search.
Is this TikTok profile analyzer really free?
Yes — every metric this tool returns, including top videos, posting cadence, and growth recommendations, is free with no paywall. There's no signup, no email capture, and no credit card at any point. Enter a public username and the full report loads in seconds. We built it this way deliberately: several other free-labeled analyzers on this exact search result gate the useful parts — top videos, cadence, recommendations — behind an email form or a trial. Here, the entire report is visible immediately, and the only optional next step is a link to Creafico, our own competitor-tracking app, if the one-off report leaves you wanting ongoing tracking.
Do I need to sign up or log in?
No. There's no account to create and nothing to log into — you type a TikTok username, click Analyze Profile, and the report renders on this page. We don't ask for your email, your TikTok credentials, or any payment information to run a check. The account you're analyzing doesn't need to belong to you either: since this reads the same public profile data any visitor could see, no login is involved on your end or the analyzed account's end. If you later want continuous tracking instead of a one-off check, that's a separate, clearly-labeled product — nothing on this page requires it.
Can I analyze someone else's TikTok account?
Yes — that's the primary use case. This tool reads whatever is publicly visible on a profile: follower count, videos, likes, and comments, the same information anyone who opens that profile in the TikTok app or on tiktok.com can see. You can check a competitor, a creator you're studying for format ideas, a prospective client's account before a pitch, or your own. No relationship or permission between you and the account is required, because nothing analyzed here is private — if TikTok shows it to a logged-out visitor, this tool can read it too. Private accounts are the one exception — see the next question.
Will the person know I analyzed their profile?
No. Running a profile through this tool is functionally identical to opening that profile's page in a browser and looking at it — TikTok doesn't notify accounts about profile views at all, whether you look manually or run their username through here. The analyzed account has no visibility into who ran the check, when it ran, or how many times it's been run. We don't follow, like, comment, or otherwise interact with the account while gathering data, so there's no activity trail on their side pointing back to you. The only trace of the check exists on your own screen.
How is TikTok engagement rate calculated?
This tool calculates it as (average likes + average comments) ÷ followers × 100, averaged across the account's 20 most recent public videos. That's narrower than some tools use — shares and saves aren't included, because TikTok's public data doesn't expose those two figures for accounts you don't own. Because of that, the percentage here will typically read lower than a figure from a tool that does count shares and saves, or lower than what a creator sees in their own private analytics dashboard. It's still useful for one thing specifically: comparing accounts, since every profile run through this tool is measured with the exact same formula.
What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
It depends heavily on follower count — smaller accounts routinely post higher engagement rates than large ones, so there isn't one universal "good" number. As a general pattern, rates tend to drift down as an account's follower count climbs, since a growing share of followers become passive rather than active viewers. What actually drives a good rate is niche, content format, and posting consistency more than follower count alone. We're deliberately not publishing specific benchmark numbers by follower tier here yet — we'd rather add real first-party data than guess, and that breakdown is planned for a future update to this page.
Can I analyze a private TikTok account?
No. This tool can only read data that's publicly visible, and TikTok deliberately hides everything about a private account — follower count, videos, likes — from anyone who isn't an approved follower. That's the same restriction the TikTok app itself enforces; this tool isn't working around it. If you run a private username through the analyzer, it returns a "profile not found"–style error rather than partial data, because from the outside a private account looks empty. To check one, ask the account owner to switch to public temporarily, or view it from an approved follower's own logged-in session instead.
Where does the data come from, and how accurate is it?
The data comes directly from TikTok's own public profile and video data — the same information anyone can see by opening the account's profile, pulled programmatically instead of by hand. Follower count, video count, likes, and comments are exact figures as TikTok reports them at the moment you run the check. Engagement rate, posting cadence, and the growth recommendations are calculated by this tool from that raw data — they're derived, not numbers TikTok publishes directly, so treat them as this tool's read on the account rather than an official TikTok statistic. Accuracy is only as fresh as the moment you click Analyze Profile.
How often is the data refreshed?
Every time you click Analyze Profile, the tool fetches the account's current public data fresh — nothing is cached or reused between checks. Two checks on the same account minutes apart can return slightly different numbers if the creator posted, gained followers, or picked up likes in between. The example report shown on this page before you run your own check is the one exception: it's a fixed, clearly-labeled placeholder rather than a live pull, so the page never sits blank while it loads for you. Enter a real username and that placeholder is replaced with a genuinely fresh check.
How is this different from TikTok's own analytics?
TikTok's built-in analytics dashboard is private to the account owner and includes data this tool structurally cannot see from the outside — traffic sources, audience demographics, watch-time and retention curves, and follower growth charted over time. This tool instead reads what's publicly visible on any profile and computes its own metrics from that: engagement rate, posting cadence, and top videos by view count. That trade-off is also the point — TikTok's dashboard only works for your own account, while this works on any public profile, including competitors' and other creators' you'd never get dashboard access to. Use TikTok's own analytics for your account's deep data, and this for everyone else's public numbers.
Can I compare two TikTok accounts?
Right now, this tool analyzes one profile per check, so comparing two accounts today means running each username separately and reading the two reports side by side — there's no built-in split-screen view on this page yet. If you're regularly comparing several accounts in the same niche rather than doing a one-off check, that's the exact gap our app, Creafico, is built to close: it tracks multiple competitor accounts continuously and surfaces the comparison automatically instead of you re-running checks by hand. For a single side-by-side lookup, two tabs and two Analyze Profile clicks get you there today.
